Initially launched in March 2021, CO2nstruct Zero unites pioneering organisations that are leading the way in their efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

As part of the programme, Business Champions share best practices with other companies across the UK construction sector. Business Champions also provide a set of metrics, so members of the industry can benchmark their progress towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. Today's announcement, which includes KCS alongside organisations like The Environment Agency, marks CO2nstruct Zero’s continued growth.

'KCS are proud to have been selected as a CO2nstruct Zero Business Champion,' says James Mitchell, Managing Director of KCS for the UK and Ireland.

We're committed to helping our customers in the construction industry achieve their net-zero and CO2nstruct Zero goals.

‘As a leading provider of business management software solutions to the distributive trades, KCS has embraced its crucial role within the industry. Our products help our customers become more efficient and sustainable in their day-to-day operations,' James adds. 'We believe this is essential to help our customers enjoy continued profitability and success. We believe that sustainability and profitability go hand in hand. KCS has a key role in the helping business digitise their process and though this digitisation then there is a reduction of waste and CO2.’

The CLC is co-chaired by Lee Rowley MP, Minister for Business & Industry, and Andy Mitchell CBE, who is the CEO of Thames Tidesway. The CLC's mission is to provide sector leadership across the construction industry. CO2nstruct Zero is borne from its Net Zero workstream and has seen over 50 companies and organisations become Business Champions since its inception earlier this year.
